As some of you may or may not know Kuwinda The Urban Treasure Hunt Company has been operating since August 2010 in Calgary and September 2011 in Edmonton. Since day 1 we have been a volunteer driven enterprise. All of our growth has been thanks to YOU the Hunters, and a few select businesses who have graciously supplied the Treasures. As we have grown we have introduced new activities and special events to keep Kuwinda fun, rewarding and educational. However with growth comes growing pains. Over the past few months our Hunter Point collectors have doubled. Tallying Hunter Points is an extremely time-consuming project for us as we have no technology that tabulates this. We simply go over all the Facebook and Twitter activity manually, one by one, Hunter by Hunter. Unfortunately, we just can’t keep up anymore, therefore it is my sad duty to report that as of March 1, 2012 Hunter Points have been temporarily suspended until we can figure out a way to streamline the process.
Some of you play for the fun, some for the education, some for the challenge and some strictly for the Points. We know that suspending the Hunter Points will mean that we will lose some players. For that we are sorry, it is because of you the Hunters that we have grown and why it is we do this. We need to re-focus our efforts in order to ensure a successful, long-term life.
Over the next few months we will continue with the weekly Hunts and Music Trivia Monday’s. Our strategy Team will also meet regularly to discuss how Kuwinda Version 3 will come back bigger, better, and stronger than ever before!
Thank you once again for all your support without which we would not have enjoyed the past 18 months as much as we have. We welcome all your feedback or concerns and any suggestions that you might have going forward.
For Mike N, Adam, Maggie and myself……Thank you for your understanding.
Mike

I’ll still play! I’m learning a lot by researching your ‘Cranky’ Clues every Wednesday! Keep on rolling
Peter
Thanks so much Peter!
Do you think that giving up points and going back to a “weekly” winner for each of the three trivia’s every week would be easier? Just a suggestion, seems like it would be easier to toss 3 envelopes in the mail every week and not tally points at all.
I think it’s awesome either way, prize or no prize, points or no points, it’s the fun of the game that I enjoy.
Thanks Kuwinda team! You rock.

We have considered that option Sherry. If and when we find enough Partners to make that sustainable we would certainly love to do that!
You make my brain hurt sometimes! Either way, I still play when I can!
Ha Ha! Thanks Kimmy, you’ve been playing since Day 1!
