Participating in our Hunts is relatively easy, however from time to time we forget that we have new players every week, and that we “tweak” the rules every now and then to make the Hunts better. If you are ever unclear of the rules or would like to ask any questions feel free, we’ll do our best to address it as soon as possible.
Here are some commonly asked questions.
When do the Hunts take place? To remain consistent, our Hunts take place on Wednesday’s.
What time do the Hunts take place? Unless we say otherwise, our first clue always gets released at 11 am and the Hunt Day ends at 6 pm.
How many clues are there? We release 5 clues, 1 per hour starting at 11 am.
How do I win? There are 2 ways to win. Once you think you know the answer, the first way to win is to get to our secret location first, take your picture, and send it in via email, text, or Twitter. The second way is to email, text, or Tweet a guess. If correct, your name is entered into the weekly draw.
What happens when the treasure is found? Although there is usually only one main treasure winner, you can still guess until 6 pm to collect points.
What happens if a picture is faked? It better be good! We have had several fakes in the past. Usually it’s fairly obvious but if an individual really wants to spend the time to create a masterpiece, have at it, we’re not giving away cars here, why bother?
Why is it important to DM my guess on Twitter? It’s not the end of the world if you don’t. It gives those players who haven’t figured it out yet a chance to guess.
I won! How do I claim my Treasure? We mail all of the prizes out, if we don’t have an address for you we’ll ask you to email or DM it to us. We try our best to get the prizes sent out right away but it might take a little time in some cases. If you haven’t received anything from us within a couple of weeks, let us know.
How long do I have to wait to claim the BIG points again? If you claimed the BIG points by getting to our Secret Location first you must wait 21 days. You may still guess and earn points that way.
Is Kuwinda similar to the daily deal sites? Not at all, there is no purchase required. Just find the treasure or make a correct guess and you can win! We’re all about having fun and rewarding our Hunters for getting involved.
What are Hunter Points? Hunter points are points you can collect just by participating in the Hunts. Different activities have different value. Finding the treasure is rewarded with the most points.
What do I do with all my Hunter Points? Although we’re quite not there yet, in the near future you will be able to cash in Hunter points on merchandise or gift cards.
What do the rankings mean? They really don’t mean anything, we thought it would be fun!
How do you say Kuwinda and what does it mean? Pronounced koo-win-da, it is the Swahili word for Hunt.
