General Overview
Kuwinda is a social media based, trivia inspired, Treasure Hunt. Our participants are rewarded points for staying actively involved in our weekly Hunts, and Music Trivia Monday’s (MTM). Points can then be redeemed for Treasures or merchandise from our online store (Treasures Page).
Clues and Guesses
The format for our Hunts and MTM is the same. We release a total of 5 clues, one per hour starting at 11am. As each hour passes the clues become easier. The clues can be seen either here on our website, on our Twitter timeline, on our Facebook Page, or our Shouts on Foursquare. You can also sign up for Text or Email alerts.
Hunter’s can guess at our clues as many times as they wish. However, if you are collecting Hunter Points you will only receive points for your first 5 guesses. With each clue that is released and with each guess made your points received declines. For instance, if you guess correctly on your first guess within an hour of the first clue, you receive maximum points (1000). If you guess correctly on the first clue but it took 5 guesses, you receive the minimum amount of points (150). If your first guess does not come until the second clue, you are only awarded with the maximum points for a second clue (500). If you just get it wrong, we’ll still give you 100 pts.
Hunter Profile
Anyone can play Kuwinda as long as they follow, like, or whatever on one of the platforms we release clues on. However if you wish to take advantage of ALL (from time to time we have giveaways that do not require you to be collecting points) the great items we have to give away you must collect Hunter Points. Filling out a Hunter Profile is easy. We only require enough information so that we can award you with the points you earn. Don’t worry, we do not share your information with anyone without your permission.
Hunter Points
Collecting Hunter Points is easy and there are many things you can do to collect points. Below is a list of ways in which you can collect points and from time to time we have special events where bonus points are awarded.
- Submit a Hunter Profile = 1000 pts
- follow on multiple platforms = 500 pts (per extra)
- find the treasure = 3000 pts
- RT, like, share one of our posts = 100 pts (within 2 hrs)
- start or get involved in a discussion on FB = 250 pts
- mention Kuwinda on Twitter = 250 pts
- refer a friend = 1000 pts
- get spotted wearing Kuwinda merchandise = 1500 pts
- visit one of our partners and share = 1000 pts
- attend a tweetup/party/get together = 2000 pts
- first correct guess of the day = 1000 pts
- correct guess 1st clue = 1000 pts
- correct guess 2nd clue = 500 pts
- correct guess 3rd clue = 250 pts
- correct guess 4/5th clue = 150 pts
- incorrect guess = 100 pts
You will not receive points if you:
- RT another Hunters RT or mention. While we appreciate the support, points will not be awarded on 2nd, 3rd hand etc, posts.
- be awarded half points for “trying”
- following then un-following on a secondary platform
- photos wearing our clothing, one of our team members must spot you
Redeem Points
You’ve got some points in the bank and you found something on the treasure page that you like. All you have to do is send an email to yyc@kuwinda.ca with the subject header Treasures and tell us what you would like. Unfortunately the monthly Treasures are available at a first come first serve basis. We might not have had a chance to mark the Treasure claimed yet. If this happens we will let you know. Feel free to ask questions, we might have multiple units of the same Treasure, tickets for instance are grouped in two’s however we might have dozens. From time to time we might have specials, I recommend you check back often in case you didn’t see a tweet or post informing you.

Aside from our weekly Hunts we at Kuwinda are always on the lookout for more ways to give you the Hunters a fun rewarding experience. It is our great pleasure to bring you special Hunts that give you the opportunity to win tickets and prizes for special events or exclusive engagements.

If for any reason you are not enjoying Kuwinda anymore let us know. For whatever reason, we understand. Just fire off an email to yyc@kuwinda.ca with the subject header remove and it’s done. Feel free to tell us why you’re leaving, we love feedback.
